Born from the meeting of six people, specialized in the engineering and electrical fields, SLIM was founded on July 12, starting from a production of neon lamps in glass bulbs and electromechanical switches.
1973
To boost the company’s growth, SLIM moves its headquarters to the current Biassono plant. The production of light bulbs is flanked and surpassed by a more complex product, the light indicator.
1984
Strong of a consolidated commercial network in Italy and abroad, and attentive to market innovations, since 2000 SLIM has begun to integrate LED technology in the production of light indicators.

Today we are preparing for the future with a tradition and experience of 50 years. Ready to face the challenges of the global market with the same passion that marked our birth.

The founding partners
From the passion and inventiveness of six founding members, including Pier Luigi Cattani and Agostino Zambellini, on July 12, 1973 SLIM was born.
The SLIM plant in 1973
In 1974 from Monza, the company moved to Macherio, acquiring new presses for moulding plastic components. In 1984 the company moved to its current location in Biassono and increased the development of the commercial network in Italy and abroad.
The first trade fairs
In 1975 SLIM took part in the first trade fair in Milan, followed by the foreign fairs in Cologne (Domotechnica), Paris, Hannover, Madrid, where SLIM exhibited, with a dedicated stand, lights, mercury lamps and switches.
